Summary

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to oversee the installation, configuration, performance, integrity, and security of our organization's databases. The DBA will play a crucial role in ensuring the availability, reliability, and efficiency of our data systems, supporting both operational needs and strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Database Management: Install, configure, upgrade, and patch database software.
  • Performance Monitoring & Tuning: Continuously monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing.
  • Backup & Recovery: Develop, implement, and regularly test robust backup and disaster recovery plans to safeguard data integrity and ensure business continuity.
  • Security: Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls, role management, and data encryption.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, including performance problems, connectivity errors, and data corruption.
  • Database Design Support: Collaborate with development teams to design efficient database schemas, optimize queries, and provide technical guidance on database best practices.
  • Capacity Planning: Monitor database growth and forecast future resource requirements (storage, CPU, memory).
  • High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage high availability solutions (e.g., clustering, replication) and participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and standards.
  • Automation: Develop scripts and tools to automate routine database tasks.
Critical Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator.
  • In-depth knowledge of one or more major database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and database design principles.
  • Expertise in database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery methodologies.
  • Experience with database security best practices.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
  • Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation are advantageous.
  • Experience with cloud database platforms (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
