Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Marketing & Member Services, the Communications and Digital Media Coordinator is responsible for leading MSVU Athletics and Recreation social media marketing and communication efforts. They will develop and implement strategies that support and integrate marketing and communication efforts for an active social media audience of approximately 5k students (prospective and current), faculty, staff, alumni and broader community members, across a number of social media channels.

The incumbent will develop and implement communication tools and supporting materials for all aspects of the MSVU athletic and recreation department including, but not limited, to the Mount Fitness Centre, summer camps, intramurals, the Mount Mystics, etc.

The Communications & Digital Media Coordinator is also responsible for sports information management for the Mount Mystics including but not limited to roster development, game day materials, posters, promotions, press releases, newsletters, athlete of the week and more.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has a university degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field and one year of related experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered. The ideal candidate is a nimble, passionate social media enthusiast that possesses strong content development/writing skills, a deep understanding of social media and omni-channel marketing approaches, a love for analytics/data, and has a passion for staying up to date on the latest industry best practices to continually enhance the university's social media marketing and communication efforts. Previous experience in a sport and recreation setting would be an asset. Candidates should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and have an aptitude for, or previous experience, using business enterprise systems.
