What you will do:
Work is usually performed under direction or according to assigned schedules.
Reporting to the Park Maintenance Supervisor at Herring Cove Provincial Park Golf Course, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Performing grounds maintenance which includes mowing greens, tees, approaches, roughs, and fairways using various mowing equipment
- Operating equipment and machinery such as augers, irrigation pumps, tractors, sod-cutter, chainsaws, and pole saws
- Aerating and processing turf areas; watering, applying fertilizers and other soil amendments using spreaders
- Installing and maintaining irrigation and drainage systems
- Maintaining equipment including minor repairs, cleaning, and inspections
- Building maintenance which includes cleaning, painting and minor repairs
- Assisting campground with trail and road maintenance, tree removal, brush clean-up, material spreading, and other tasks as required
- Maintaining a clean, safe, work environment
- Performing other related tasks, as required

You must be a team player who is able to work with minimal supervision. You also possess strong interpersonal, communication skills and are self-motivated.
Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
Required Competencies:
- Completion of grade ten (10)
- Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in labour work, including the use and maintenance of tools and equipment; or some experience in the operation of a light motor vehicle
- Valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
- Chainsaw Operator Training Certification, or willingness to obtain training within 6-months of employment
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.
Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration. Please ensure that preferred language for assessment is identified on your resume.
Nice to have:
- Valid Emergency First Aid/CPR certification
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System(WHMIS) training
- Experience in golf course grounds maintenance

Wage:
$27.72 per hour
