Position Overview

MedNexus Health Laboratory is offering a unique opportunity for a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our growing team on a full-time permanent basis. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT), you will play a key role in delivering accessible, accurate, and innovative diagnostic services using the latest laboratory technology while contributing to improved patient outcomes and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a wide range of diagnostic and interpretive specimen testing (Hematology and Chemistry focus).
  • Prepare and process samples, ensuring accurate labeling and documentation.
  • Perform, interpret, and release results while maintaining strict patient confidentiality.
  • Ensure sample identification is correct, and specimen requirements are met according to established procedures.
  • Participate in problem solving in work organization and workflow.
  • Assist with the evaluation and implementation of new technology and perform routine equipment maintenance.
  • Record, interpret, and/or approve test results with a high level of accuracy.
  • Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with quality assurance standards.
  • Perform all other related administrative or special tasks as per operational requirements.

Experience/Education

  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program (CSLMS).
  • Must be registered and in good standing with the New Brunswick Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists (NBSMLT).
  • A minimum of one to three (1-3) years' experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist required, experience in hematology and chemistry is considered a strong asset.
  • Prior experience in the troubleshooting, validation, and calibration of laboratory equipment is considered an asset.
  • Prior experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems, Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), and other software's such as Microsoft Office is considered an asset.
  • Quality Management Certificate is considered an asset.

  • Skilled and self-motivated Medical Laboratory Technologist and strong commitment to quality patient care.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly adaptable and flexible in start-up environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in English is essential due to operational requirements.
  • Strong commitment to patient safety, accuracy, and continuous quality improvement.

Schedule & Location

  • The clinic operates from Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and Saturday shifts as required. Statutory holidays are excluded.
  • The final schedule will be determined collaboratively with the employer, taking operational requirements into consideration.
  • The successful applicant will be expected to work in person in Moncton, New Brunswick.
