Supporting the PAL Group of Companies, we are looking for a IT Network Security Analyst to join our team in St. John's, NL.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor network traffic for security incidents and events.
  • Install and operate firewalls, encryption programs, and other security software.
  • Fix vulnerabilities.
  • Assist with information technology security, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, logging, web filtering, intrusion detection/prevention systems, etc.
  • Enforcement of information security plans and policies, ensuring they meet all contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the development of Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Plans.
  • Adhere to security compliance programs such as ISO27001.
  • Regular review of system events and audit logs to ensure policy compliance.
  • Conduct risk analysis of new information systems and make recommendations.
  • Awareness training of the workforce on security standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Conduct periodic network and vulnerabilities scans.
  • Conduct periodic simulated cyber attacks on information systems, networks, and end-users to find exploitable weakness.
  • Conduct periodic configuration reviews of existing systems to ensure policy compliance.
  • Investigation of security incidents & security breaches.
  • Review of all requested information system configuration changes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or related field.
  • 7+ years of IT Security administration experience.
  • Strong experience with networking systems: LAN, WAN, switches, routers, protocols, firewalls, VPN, wireless networks, security appliances, and network access security.
  • Experience with CrowdStrike antivirus and SPLUNK monitoring software.
  • Completion of Cisco and Microsoft certifications would be considered an asset.
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity Associate (PCCSA) would be considered an asset.
  • Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) would be considered an asset.
  • Certified Network Defender (CND) would be considered an asset.
