The Risk Advisor is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of risk management, business continuity and incident management frameworks, standards, and practices that enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness. This role plays a key part in risk-informed planning and decision-making by using data, analysis, and proactive coordination to identify risks, support mitigation actions, and strengthen organizational resilience. The Risk Advisor assists with risk planning, monitoring, and reporting and provides critical support in developing operational documents in alignment with CRC's processes, tools, and systems. The role also supports the organization's response to critical incidents, helping to identify emerging risks.
In this role, you will:
- Support the development and maintenance of risk management frameworks and systems that integrate enterprise and operational risk, compliance considerations, and organizational strategic priorities.
- Coordinate and consolidate inputs to develop, maintain, and track risk registers and mitigation actions, ensuring alignment with CRC's response and program/service cycles and long-term strategy.
- Develop and monitor risk indicators, tracking tools, and reporting products, including quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reporting.
- Support risk management by analyzing risk, incident, and stakeholder input, and providing recommendations to reduce risk exposure.
- Monitor follow-up actions related to risk mitigation recommendations and escalated issues requiring higher-level review.
- Assist in cascading risk priorities into workplans across teams and portfolios.
- Promote consistency in risk tools, methodologies, and outputs across teams.
- Represent CRC in internal risk-related forums to align with organizational priorities .
- Act as a subject matter resource and internal advisor on risk management practices, providing guidance and solutions to cross-functional teams.
- Support the development and implementation of program/service-specific risk processes, tools, and documentation aligned to CRC standards, and support training and capacity-building to embed risk awareness across the organization and support broader organizational learning objectives.
What we are looking for:
- Qualifications include a minimum of 4-7 years experience in risk management, quality management or compliance functions, business process management, or continuous improvement and a 3-year college diploma or university degree in business administration, risk management, public administration, or a related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven analytical and coordination skills with experience frameworks, registers, and reporting tools.
- Experience supporting complex initiatives involving stakeholders across multiple fields of practice.
- Demonstrated ability in facilitating discussions or leading working sessions around risk, compliance and continuous improvement with internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint.
- Ability to identify, investigate and analyze problems, identify root causes and risks, and apply technical, functional and organizational knowledge to develop solutions.
- Communication skills, diplomacy and empathy to interpret information and deliver advice, clarify client or stakeholder needs, offer solutions, and resolve escalations in new or somewhat sensitive situations.

- Work requires interactions with dissatisfied clients and the resolution of complex client issues.
- In a large-scale emergency, where staff numbers are compromised or additional resources are required provide disaster relief and/or emergency field operational support.
- May be required to work extended hours during peak periods on short notice.
