You will work with a team of creative and passionate people in the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture's Strategic Marketing branch!
Who we are:
The Strategic Marketing team promotes New Brunswick to potential travelers in key target markets across Canada, the United States, and Europe. Our team does this by developing a recognizable brand and using an integrated marketing approach to promote New Brunswick tourism experiences via owned, earned, and paid media tactics. This includes digital, traditional, and new media; direct-to-consumer outreach, influencer campaigns, brand activations, and other strategic initiatives.
What you will do:
Explore NB Ambassador Program
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of the Explore NB Ambassador Program, including the Explore NB Street Team
- Develop and implement marketing and communications plan for the Ambassador program, events, and activations
- Oversee the Explore NB Summer Student Program, including student recruitment support, training, mentoring, administration duties, scheduling, time sheets and supervision of the team
- Responsible for supporting the Explore NB Street Team, ensuring strong brand representation at attractions, parks, communities, beaches, festivals, and events across the province
- Promote the New Brunswick brand while Explore NB Street Team is travelling throughout the province and engaging directly with visitors and residents
- Plan and execute experiential activations, local sampling initiatives, and on-the-ground brand moments throughout the year (Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring)
- Execute creative, guerilla-style marketing tactics to drive brand awareness and audience engagement
- Collect data and prepare post-event reports to measure impact and continuously improve program effectiveness
- Vehicle management of Explore NB assets (Cruiser van and SUV)
Social Media Content & Brand Storytelling
- Collaborate closely with the Social Media Strategist to ensure Explore NB Street Team content aligns with social media plans, campaigns, and content needs
- Create and publish engaging, on-brand content for Explore NB's social media channels
- Guide the Explore NB Street Team in capturing high-quality photos, videos, and storytelling content throughout the Summer
- Responsible for capturing and sharing content on the off season at activations and events
- Explore NB Street Team is responsible to help drive traffic to website, newsletters, and social platforms through compelling content and activations
Influencers & Content Creators
- Support Explore NB's Influencer Program, identifying and building relationships with influencers and content creators who align with the brand and support marketing campaigns
- Coordinate influencer visits to New Brunswick, including agreements, itinerary development, bookings, budget and on-the-ground logistics
- Foster strong partnerships with creators to generate high-quality, authentic content showcasing the province
- Build, maintain, and manage a comprehensive roster database of key influencers and content creators
- Support collaboration between influencers, tourism operators, and local partners to maximize reach and impact
Partnerships & Collaboration
- Assist in establishing and maintaining partnerships with tourism industry, regional tourism organizations and communities
- Represent Explore NB professionally with partners and stakeholders across the province
- Perform all other related duties as required to support team objectives within the branch

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
Required Competencies:
- A bachelor's degree in marketing, tourism, communications, public relations or related field, accompanied by a minimum of two (2) years related experience, OR a two (2) year related diploma and four (4) years related experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated experience in marketing, brand activation, experiential marketing, events or tourism promotions
- Comfortable supervising, mentoring, or coordinating students
- Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, coordinate and execute programs and the ability to manage multiple priority projects and meet demanding deadlines
- Experience creating and publishing engaging social media content (photo, video and written storytelling) for branded channels
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, external partners and stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- A valid class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout and outside of New Brunswick, including evenings, weekends and some holidays, as needed
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

Nice to have:
- Experience building relationships and being 'The Host'
- Experience working with or supporting influencers, content creators, or ambassador style programs
- Experience managing budgets, contracts and invoicing
- Experience with staff scheduling, calendar of events and time sheets
- Knowledge of local New Brunswick tourism experiences, communities and regions
- Previous experience managing student teams

Wage:
$2,047.00 to $2,860.00 biweekly (Pay band 3)
Work environment:
- Office location: Marysville Place, Fredericton
- Open office layout
- Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15AM - 4:30PM
- Please note that this position requires some travel within New Brunswick and out of province, as well as some work outside of regular work hours, weekends and holidays. Standard hours of work may be altered to accommodate these requirements.
