WHO WE ARE:
The Labour and Employment Board is a quasi-judicial administrative tribunal responsible for the supervision of labour relations in both the private and public sectors in New Brunswick. Responsibilities of the Board are mandated and set out in the provisions of, among others, the Industrial Relations Act, Public Service Labour Relations Act, Employment Standards Act, Pension Benefits Act, and Human Rights Act. We are seeking an individual to provide professional assistance and support with respect to these acts and regulations. The position is in Fredericton.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will process applications and complaints filed with the Labour and Employment Board and ensure they comply with statutory and regulatory standards of procedure and documentation. The candidate will answer inquiries from the public with respect to various legislated processes, assist with drafting of documents and correspondence in both official languages, assist with preparation of the Annual Report, and perform other tasks as required. As well, the incumbent will conduct representation votes as Returning Officer.

WHO YOU ARE:
You possess strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. You are adept at prioritizing your workload and have a keen attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree and a minimum of four (4) years of related work experience including experience in reading and interpreting legislation, or have a Law degree.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

The following operational requirements are also required: occasional travel within province.

SALARY:
From $2,600 to $3,631 bi-weekly
