The Corporate Services and Strategic Investments Division supports the department by providing financial, human resources, strategic planning, project support, and information management services. This division also administers several funding programs that support local, regional, environmental and climate priorities. The division is responsible for the development and tracking of the Climate Change Action Plan and management of the Climate Change Fund and the Output Based Pricing System.
The Department of Environment and Local Government provides leadership in environmental management and addressing climate change while supporting strong local governance and vibrant communities throughout New Brunswick.

What will you do?
The successful candidate for our current vacancy will join the Community Funding Branch as a Project Manager / Project Engineer.
As a member of the Community Funding Branch the successful candidate will:
- Support municipal asset management and capital planning.
- Assist in the administration of infrastructure funding programs;
- Manage infrastructure projects from project conception to construction.

Essential qualifications
Engineer 1: University degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Mechanical or Environmental). The successful candidate must be able to register as a Member-in-Training with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick.
Engineer 2: University degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Mechanical or Environmental) and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience. The successful candidate must be registered as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.
Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration. Please ensure that preferred language for assessment is identified on your resume.
Asset Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate one or more of the following asset qualifications:
- Municipal asset management;
- Project Management;
- Infrastructure funding programs such as the Federal Gas Tax Fund, Small Communities Fund and the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund.
Operational Requirements
Travel throughout the province is required. A valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick is required.

Wage
Engineer 1: $2,373.95to $3,022.31bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week
Engineer 2: $2,772.97 to $3,704.92bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week
Work environment
- Office location: 20 McGloin (Marysville Place), Fredericton.
- Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30 (office schedule)
