We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Hybrid Forklift Operator / Shipping & Receiving Associate for one of Ottawa's leading landscaping and construction supply companies. This role combines forklift operation, shipping & receiving, yard support, customer service, and warehouse responsibilities in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong forklift experience, enjoy working outdoors, and be comfortable handling inventory, coordinating shipments, loading/unloading materials, and supporting daily yard operations.

Responsibilities:

• Arrive 15 minutes before yard opening, dressed in appropriate safety attire including high-visibility clothing and steel-toed boots
• Complete daily forklift and equipment inspections
• Perform shipping & receiving duties including verifying incoming/outgoing shipments and organizing inventory
• Assist with loading and unloading landscaping and construction materials from supplier trucks and customer vehicles
• Prepare customer orders and materials for delivery
• Maintain accurate inventory and product organization within the yard and warehouse
• Ensure delivery trucks and customer vehicles are loaded accurately and safely
• Offload supplier deliveries and restock materials throughout the yard and warehouse
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, warehouse, and outdoor yard spaces
• Sort freight and assist with additional warehouse and yard duties as required
• Follow all health & safety procedures and company policies
• Work collaboratively with team members while being able to work independently when needed

Requirements:

• Valid forklift certification with a minimum of 2 years of verifiable forklift experience
• Previous shipping & receiving experience required
• Experience working in a yard, warehouse, or outdoor industrial environment preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
• Strong attention to safety, organization, and detail
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Team-oriented with the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Criminal Record Check required during onboarding
• Steel-toed boots required
