Recreation Therapist 1 (RE01)

JOB TYPE: Temporary full-time

SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Bilingual essential

JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent performs professional clinical work in the planning and facilitation of leisure activities aimed at the well-being, socialization and development of patients.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, or Bachelor's degree in Recreation, from a recognized university with major course work in Therapeutic Recreation;
• Advanced non-violent crisis intervention training (CPI) or a commitment to take this training within set schedule;
• Prevention and management of suicidal behaviour's training or a commitment to take this training within set schedule;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and other software commonly used within the Network;
• Leadership and strong decision-making skills;
• Teaching skills;
• Strong sense of responsibility and a high degree of autonomy;
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills;
• Proven communication and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work independently and as a team member;
• Physically able to perform assigned duties;
• Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
• Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
• Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
