The New Brunswick Legal Aid Services Commission (NBLASC) is seeking an individual to fill the position of Regional Manager in our Saint John office.

What you will do

Reporting to the Director of Criminal Law Services, you will be responsible for providing overall management, guidance and leadership for the Saint John regional operations. Your responsibilities will include:

• Act as a resource on a variety of complex and critical legal issues and display a leadership role with respect to difficult and controversial cases;
• Be involved in setting and carrying out policy and will participate in planning for NBLASC, as a whole, and its operational units;
• Carry a significant case load while maintaining responsibility for overseeing work allocation and overall competence and quality of work performed in the region;
• Liaise with community groups providing complementary or related services;
• Provide public legal education as required;
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:

Need to have (Essential qualifications and skills)

• Bachelor of Law Degree
• Membership in good standing or eligibility for membership with the Law Society of New Brunswick
• Minimum of ten (10) years experience at the Bar, preferably in Criminal and/or family law.

Please state your date of admission to a Canadian Law Society.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration. Please ensure that preferred language for assessment is identified on your resume.

Wage

$ 139,360- 166,582 annually - ML-I, Management Lawyer Pay Plan
