The Opportunity We are currently seeking a Senior Specialist, Integrated Project Assessment Governance & Reporting to join our CTO team in Toronto. This is a permanent on site position. As an Senior Specialist, Integrated Project Assessment Governance & Reporting, you will support the IPA framework as a structured, independent maturity and assurance process that guides capital allocation, stage?gate decisions, and risk management across the project lifecycle (PEA, PFS, FS and execution), consistent with FEL and PDRI?based assessment principles. Acting as the central governance function for IPA, you will ensure that assessment outputs, risks, and actions are consistent, traceable, and decision?grade across the capital portfolio. Centralizes technical governance evolution (technical/ESG/IT/FP&A/legal deliverables) to be fed to IPA, consolidates contract controls (RFQs/POs/billing/SME performance efforts), and manages budget/spending analytics. Will also be responsible for building executive dashboards, developing AI agents, and PPM FISA (Facts, Impact-Severity and Actions) integration with real-time monitoring, adherence, and mitigation tracking. Automates MRMR input risk matrices (based on FISAs), DRB packs, and enterprise risk inputs while driving the lessons learned database and continuous improvement. Additionally, in this position you will:
  • Own and lead the Integrated Project Assessment (IPA) governance framework, including standards, routines, controls, and decision?quality thresholds across all project complexity tiers.
  • Act as the governance authority and escalation point, ensuring consistent application, audit readiness, and timely resolution of deviations.
  • Deliver executive dashboards and governance reporting that provide real?time visibility into FISA status, gate readiness, risk trends, and portfolio health.
  • Define and monitor IPA performance KPIs, enabling a single source of truth for leadership decision?making and early risk identification.
  • Design and implement digital automation and AI?enabled workflows to streamline governance activities, reporting, and action tracking.
  • Ensure strong automation governance through controlled templates, auditable outputs, and human?in?the?loop oversight.
  • Lead commercial and procurement governance across contracts, purchasing, invoicing, and supplier performance, integrating insights into IPA risk management.
  • Own portfolio?level budget and spend analytics, identifying variance drivers and emerging cost or claims risk.
  • Integrate IPA outputs into MRMR and enterprise risk frameworks, ensuring traceability from risks to mitigations and actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, governance analytics, and updates to standards, templates, and digital tools.
About You Education:· Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline is required, Experience:· 11-15 years of experience in the field Skills:· Strong understanding of stage?gate governance, independent assurance, and maturity assessment across mining project lifecycles.· Experience across PEA, PFS, FS, and execution with applied FEL, PDRI, and IPA assessment methodologies.· Sufficient depth across mining, processing, ESG, project controls, and economics to challenge assumptions and validate readiness.· Ability to identify, prioritize, and communicate risks using severity, impact, and mitigation logic.· Evidence?based validation, findings development, action tracking, and audit?ready documentation.· Effective collaboration across project teams, SMEs, and corporate functions without direct authority.· Strong skills in audit, MRMR/QP, and internal control requirements, with disciplined traceability.· Comfort with dashboards, analytics, and automation to support governance transparency and decision quality.· Business Acumen: Ability to translate assurance outcomes into implications for capital efficiency, ROIC, SFCF, and gate decisions.· Clear, concise, decision?oriented communication for senior technical and governance stakeholders.· Languages: Fluent in English; Portuguese proficiency is a strong asset.· High ethical standards, independent judgment, and courage to escalate issues.
