Responsibilities
Comply with the OHS program and industry regulations
Demonstrate commitment to updating technical skills including working with PC maintenance programs and PC based inventory and PC communication methods
Perform planned maintenance on airport systems; supplied by 600 volts and under
Repair and maintain loading bridges and Ground Power Units (GPU)
Provide detailed information of parts required, Assist in procurement of spare parts.
Repair and maintain baggage handling system
Repair and maintain electromechanical loading docks and compactors
Repair and maintain electromechanical airfield access gates
Repair and maintain maintenance of the ATB lighting and lighting controls
Repair and maintain maintenance of the ATB
Operate and maintain of the fire alarm system
Responsibility for electrical and electronic related door repair
Responsible for maintaining tenant metering and measurements
Maintenance and repair to Parking Structure electrical systems
Work in conjunction with other maintenance staff and contractors
Respond to maintenance issues as requested by the Airport Duty Manager or the Airport Service Centre
Provide support and guidance to the Airport Planning & Development group on building projects
Provide support to the HIAA personnel and tenants and to the airport community
Provide support to Tenants in relation to baggage handling and loading bridge system
Qualifications
- Journeyed Electrician
- Minimum of five (5) years maintenance experience
- Valid NS Drivers' license
- Must be able to obtain and retain a Halifax International Airport Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
- Must obtain an Airport Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP)
- Maintenance Response Team experience would be considered an asset
- Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code
- Experience utilizing PC based maintenance programs
- Ability to read Electrical drawings
- Automation experience would be considered an asset
- Experience working in an industrial environment
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment including process control
- Demonstrated problem solving ability
- Demonstrated safety awareness
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize work
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new skills and knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities within a dynamic and changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and follow-up
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strategic working relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders
- Basic computer knowledge (Word, Excel, email)
Note: Overtime will be offered in accordance with the Collective Agreement
