­Senior Database Analyst

­Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy robust and scalable SQL Server databases aligned with business and application requirements;
  • Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and stored procedures;
  • Implement and document data standards, database structures, and metadata;
  • Administer, monitor, and maintain database health across hybrid (on-premises and cloud) environments;
  • Proactively identify and resolve performance issues, space utilization, and resource constraints;
  • Conduct regular database maintenance including backups, patches, and recovery testing;
  • Provide tier-3 database support for critical business applications;
  • Work with developers, systems analysts, and application support teams to integrate databases with enterprise applications and reporting systems;
  • Support ETL processes, data transformations, and system interfaces;
  • Assist in SQL Server upgrades, migrations, and deployments ensuring minimal downtime;
  • Analyze query performance and recommend improvements through indexing, partitioning, and configuration tuning;
  • Implement monitoring solutions and capacity planning to ensure optimal database performance;
  • Design and enforce database security policies, including user access controls, encryption, and auditing;
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory data protection standards;
  • Participate in cybersecurity assessments and implement remediation measures as needed;
  • Collaborate with business units to understand data requirements, improve data quality, and enhance analytical capabilities;
  • Support data governance initiatives by maintaining documentation, data dictionaries, and lineage;
  • Provide expertise in developing data security and retention models.

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities;
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
  • Commitment to data accuracy, system reliability, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline;
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in database administration or analysis, with a focus on SQL Server;
  • Proven track record managing large-scale, complex database systems in hybrid infrastructures;
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (2016 and later) and IBM DB2 databases;
  • Strong proficiency in SQL scripting, stored procedures, and performance tuning techniques;
  • Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory integration, and PowerShell scripting;
  • Experience with data integration tools, ETL processes, and reporting solutions (e.g., SSIS, SSRS);
  • Knowledge of cloud-based database management (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS) is an asset;
  • Understanding of data security frameworks, backup/recovery strategies, and disaster recovery planning.
