Salary Range: $54,614 - $70,998 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Manager of Systems and Applications, the Systems Analyst is responsible for systems, security infrastructure and database consultation, design, installation, maintenance, support and monitoring.

  • Efficiently and effectively maintain ITS managed systems, security infrastructure and databases to meet availability, security, stability, usability, functionality and performance standards.
  • Provide timely and professional daily operational support for ITS managed systems, security infrastructure and databases.
  • Perform quality installation of new systems, security infrastructure and databases.
  • Provide knowledgeable systems and database consultation internally for ITS and for UNB researchers, faculty and staff.
  • Properly design systems and databases according to requirements and standards.
  • Regularly monitor and analyse operational performance of systems, security infrastructure and databases.
  • Use interpersonal behaviours that contribute to successful personal and team performance.
  • Participate in project teams as an effective team member and complete independent projects successfully and on- time.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering plus two years related experience in systems analysis.

Additional Strengths

  • Experience supporting the following technologies an asset: Linux, VMware, Proxmox.
  • Experience administering relational database management systems such as MySQL, MS SQL an asset.
  • Experience using a scripting language such as Bash or Python is an asset.
  • Knowledgeable in the area of System Security an asset.
  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexibility in working hours including participation in occasional scheduled on-call after hours support, time shifting and participation in after-hours emergency response.
  • Ability to prioritize work, apply departmental standards and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in work environment.
  • Adapts easily to and welcomes technology changes.
  • Exercises initiative to independently learn new technologies.
  • Occasional travel required.
