Moosehead Breweries Limited is Canada's last major brewer still owned by Canadians. Headquartered in Saint John, New Brunswick, the company has been operated by the Oland family since its establishment in 1867.

We are currently seeking a Facilities Manager for the Saint John Brewery. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, this role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility operations, contractor management, and building systems while ensuring safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain contractor relationships, including onboarding, orientations and assign work instructions to contractors
  • Oversee contracted services including Security, Pest Control (PCO), Cleaning, and Fire Safety
  • Collaborate with the Director of PMO on contractor management initiatives
  • Coordinate all building repair and maintenance activities
  • Drive continuous improvement related to internal and external facility infrastructure
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures and standards across all units
  • Develop, manage, and control the facilities and maintenance budget
  • Lead emergency mitigation and response activities in collaboration with the Safety Coordinator
  • Ensure full compliance with plant safety policies (LOTO, risk assessments, PPE, confined space, hot work permits, etc.)
  • Manage equipment service and maintenance agreements
  • Maintain accurate facility records including drawings, manuals, and maintenance logs
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for audits and inspections
  • Ensure proper operation and maintenance of fire protection systems (sprinklers, alarms, extinguishers)
  • Manage plumbing, water supply, and wastewater systems
  • Oversee HVAC systems critical to product quality and employee comfort
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education with a degree or certificate in Carpentry, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in contractor management
  • Experience working in a unionized environment
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Strong working knowledge of MEP systems
  • Experience supporting aging infrastructure
  • Demonstrated adaptability and ability to work independently
  • Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills
  • Results-oriented with strategic thinking capability
  • Proven problem-solving and execution skills
