What you will do:
Reporting to the Security Officer Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for preventing accidents, performing rescue and first aid services at a park.

The duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and maintaining hiking trails and areas where activities are held
  • Patrolling property at opening and closing and patrolling for hazards/unsafe practices and conditions
  • Marking, locating, and removing hazards and ensuring safety signs are placed and equipment is maintained
  • Responding to emergencies by providing rescue and first aid, contacting emergency personnel as required, or transporting client to first aid station/ambulance
  • Informing public of proper conduct and promoting safety and accident prevention
  • Completing incident and accident reports
  • Performing other related duties as required

Who you are:

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:

Required Competencies:

  • Completion of Grade 10
  • Completion of courses and programs and related experience
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.
Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration. Please ensure that preferred language for assessment is identified on your resume.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with winter activities
  • Experience in the tourism and hospitality industry
  • Experience in developing community partnerships and initiatives

Wage:
$28.72 per hour
