JOB PURPOSE

As a member of an interdisciplinary team, provides quality post-operative assessment and care for patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within the scope of professional nursing practice and in accordance with the policies, procedures, and standards of the Surgical Program.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have current NANB registration, or eligible for such registration.
  • Applicants must also have at least two (2) years of recent PACU or Adult Critical Care experience.
  • Current certification in the following: BCMI, CVAD, Electrical Therapy Modules 1, 2 and 3 and Arterial Lines
  • Must become certified in extubating within 2 months of hire.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in advanced airway management.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts, as assigned, including weekends and holidays throughout the year.
  • Must be available within thirty (30) minutes when on-call.
  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.
