Our Fixed-Wing Search and Rescue (FWSAR) Aircraft Maintenance team works side by side with the RCAF technicians and crews, maintaining the latest in search and rescue Aircraft technology in the Canadian Air Force on CC295 aircraft.

PAL Aerospace is currently looking for a Person Responsible for the Assignment of Authority (PRAA), Quality and Safety Support (QSS) to join our FWSAR team in Winnipeg, MB.

The PRAA/QSS shall report to the FWSAR Senior Maintenance Manager (SMM). They will provide aviation and business expertise/support to the PAL FWSAR SMM, and FWSAR program, ensuring accomplishment with policies and instructions in accordance with applicable airworthiness, quality, and safety regulations.

The PRAA/QSS shall be responsible for the following:

PRAA-specific functions

  • Analyze/interpret/employ regulations (Aeronautics Act), policy (TAM), RCAF Air Maintenance Policy (AMP P-Series) and other RCAF, Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) documentation;
  • Provide the FWSAR SMM with advance notification of regulatory, policy, or program changes that may affect airworthiness authorities, training requirements, or maintenance procedures;
  • Provide proactive input to meet goals and support continuous improvement in the Maintenance Process Manual (MPM), Joint Procedures Manual (JPM) & FWSAR Pelesys Training Modules;
  • Research, revise & coordinate the airworthiness authorizations, procedures/interviews for AME/Equivalents and WH Ops;
  • Develop and maintain strong organizational and programmatic awareness/knowledge; and
  • Review, track all personnel files IAW the MPM Appendix F, Pelesys and the Apprentice Program.

Quality Support

  • act as document Lead at the MRO, including, but not limited to:
  • Audit prep, finding reports, CAPS, PMs, follow-up MRM (DTAES, ADS, Airpro, bsi Accreditation);
  • OmniSMS Safety Staff review and advise stakeholders in the advancement of OmniSMS submissions;
  • Assist/support Owners, Investigators, & personnel responsible for CAPs/Controls, to meet targets;
  • Pelesys Training Management System (TMS) user/support for QM & PAL Aerospace Training;
  • Detailed knowledge of MPM/JPM - all procedures, for pre-publishing reviews; and
  • FWSAR Quality Manual, PAL Safety Manual, MySDS, etc

DND/DFS Flight Safety Specialist

  • Work in DND Flight Safety Information Management System (FSIMS);
  • Investigate Flight Safety Occurrences, as discussed and assigned per agreements;
  • Serve as the FWSAR point of contact for Flight Safety Assurance Visits (FSAV);
  • Attend 17 Wing Safety Meetings and coordinate attendance at DFS roadshows/events, as required;
  • Quarantine/release aircraft from quarantine; and
  • Report Flight Safety occurrences to the SMM and at MRM/FS meetings

Qualifications

  • Transport Canada licensed M or E AME, or RCAF equivalent (Level A or Level C, AVN or AVS);
  • CC295 type-course qualified; and
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
