Internship Network Technician

Position Scope:
The Internship Network Technician will support the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and documentation of the organization's network infrastructure. This role is intended for a student or entry-level candidate who is interested in gaining hands-on experience in networking, troubleshooting, IT support, and infrastructure operations.
The intern will assist with network tasks such as switch port identification, cable tracing, device inventory, documentation updates, network testing, and first-level troubleshooting.
Work Environment & Physical:
- On-site in an office, manufacturing and warehousing environment.
- Use of personal Protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. and standing for extended periods is required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This position involves hands-on network infrastructure support, balancing physical tasks like cable management and hardware organization with technical connectivity troubleshooting. A significant portion of the role is dedicated to detailed documentation, including auditing inventory and updating network diagrams. All work must strictly follow IT compliance and change management protocols, with complex issues being escalated to a supervisor.
Qualification & Experience:
The ideal candidate is a current student or recent graduate in Information Technology or a related field with a solid grasp of networking fundamentals, strong attention to detail, and the communication skills necessary to document work clearly. Preferred candidates will have hands-on familiarity with command-line tools, networking hardware, and a basic understanding of structured cabling.
