SUMMER STUDENT IT SPECIALIST

Guysborough County Home Support Agency Society (GCHSAS) is a non-profit organization that provides authorized home support services throughout Guysborough County. Its Mission Statement is to provide essential Home Support Services for unmet, assessed needs of clients thus enabling these people to remain independent in their own homes under viable conditions, as long as possible.

Under the direction of the IT Manager, the Student IT Specialist will be part of a team providing select IT services for nine (9) non-profit Home Support agencies across Nova Scotia. This in-office position will be physically located at Guysborough County Home Support Agency in Guysborough, Nova Scotia. The Student IT Specialist position is an eight (8) week employment opportunity funded through the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A passion for technology and knowledge of IT systems
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail
• Proficiency in Office 365 (SharePoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
• Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with managing webpage is considered an asset
• Assist with forms, reports, and dashboards in AlayaCare
• Must have a current clear Criminal Record Check

The successful candidate must:

• Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment, and
• Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial legislation and regulations.

Note: International students are not eligible participants for the Canada Summer Jobs program
