Distribution Services Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise the activities of Distribution Technologists and Distribution Field Representatives, including planning, scheduling, and related administrative duties.
- Ensure skilled and trained workers are available to complete planned work and that required tools, equipment, and spare parts are properly maintained and available when needed.
- Develop and establish work methods, procedures, and practices for the supervised group, and participate in preparing and administering the Operating and Capital Budgets and Five Year Plan.
- Provide support for operations in the Labrador region and investigate problems, reporting findings, corrective actions, and associated costs to the Manager.
- Ensure incident reports are investigated and completed in a timely manner in accordance with the Safety and Health Program, and that CIAC policy and damage claims guidelines are followed for Customer Services.
- Apply knowledge of the Hydro/Aliant Joint Agreement, easement guidelines, and distribution engineering standards in day-to-day supervision and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental Management System procedures, communicate environmental responsibilities to employees, administer the Collective Agreement, and maintain working knowledge of the Work Protection Code.
What We're Looking For:
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills are essential;
- Proven supervisory skills combined with sound judgement, diplomacy and decision-making skills;
- Ability and experience in managing and motivating staff;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment;
- Strong working knowledge of computers and corporate applications (i.e.: Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office Suite, JDE, etc.);
What You'll Need:
- Graduation from a recognized two (2) or three (3) year course in Electrical/Electronic Technology program, with a minimum of five (5) years' experience as a Technologist. Other combinations of related education and experience will be considered.
- Frequent travel will be required for this position; the successful candidate must possess an appropriate valid driver's license.
