ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

NL Health Services ? Western Zone is seeking a permanent full-time Urologist for Western Memorial Regional Hospital (WMRH) in Corner Brook, NL.

Western Memorial Regional Hospital is a newly constructed, state-of-the-art acute care facility that opened in June 2024. The hospital serves as a 164-bed regional referral centre for Western Newfoundland, delivering a broad range of secondary and select tertiary services to a population of approximately 80,000 residents.

In winter, world-class skiing is nearby ? and in about an hour's drive you are on the doorstep of the world-renowned Gros Morne National Park.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized institution
  • Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Urology (or equivalent)
  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
  • Must satisfy credentialing requirements of NL Health Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide comprehensive urology services including inpatient and outpatient care
  • Perform urological surgical procedures
  • Deliver consultations to referring physicians and teams
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary surgical team
  • Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements

REMUNERATION

Remuneration is Fee-For-Service in accordance with the Medical Care Plan (MCP) Fee Schedule.
