Title: Office Receptionist
Employee Working Location : In-Person (Ottawa, ON)
Employment Status : 8 Weeks

In this role you will :

  • Build strong, transferable administrative and customer service skills while supporting daily operations at the Canadian Red Cross Headquarters in Ottawa
  • Manage incoming calls and respond to inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Greet visitors and maintain security protocols, including sign-in procedures and access control
  • Support office operations through mail handling, courier coordination, and supply management
  • Use Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel to maintain records and communications
  • Assist the Facilities Department with administrative tasks and gain exposure to broader organizational functions

What we are looking for:

  • Completion of secondary school and/or enrollment in a post-secondary program (college or university).
  • Little to no prior work experience required; relevant work experience coursework or volunteer experience is an asset.
  • Basic proficiency with standard computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to follow instructions, apply established procedures, and complete tasks with attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and receive feedback.
  • Clear communication skills for exchanging straightforward information in routine situations.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Bi lingual in English and French

Working conditions:

  • Requires concentration, attentiveness, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in work priorities and respond to time sensitive needs.
  • Work will be conducted in an office-like setting.
