The Role
As a result of continued growth, we are seeking a Health & Safety Summer Student in our St. George, NB office, this position will report directly to the Safety Training & Compliance Coordinator. The successful candidate will have the drive, determination, and a self-disciplined approach to achieving results that meet the established criteria. This role is critical in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, contractors, and stakeholders across marine and land-based operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately enter large volumes of data into computer systems from various sources (paper documents, digital files)
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical data files
- Maintaining data confidentiality and integrity
- Process and file archived training records
- Assist with processing training logs from a variety of safety trainings
- Assist Health & Safety Specialists with field inspections
- Assist Health & Safety Trainor with safety courses
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe work practices
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Comfortable interacting with employees and supervisors on safety matters
- Organizational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail, documentation skills and typing accuracy
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, email)
