Health & Safety Summer Student

The Role

As a result of continued growth, we are seeking a Health & Safety Summer Student in our St. George, NB office, this position will report directly to the Safety Training & Compliance Coordinator. The successful candidate will have the drive, determination, and a self-disciplined approach to achieving results that meet the established criteria. This role is critical in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, contractors, and stakeholders across marine and land-based operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately enter large volumes of data into computer systems from various sources (paper documents, digital files)
• Organize and maintain electronic and physical data files
• Maintaining data confidentiality and integrity
• Process and file archived training records
• Assist with processing training logs from a variety of safety trainings
• Assist Health & Safety Specialists with field inspections
• Assist Health & Safety Trainor with safety courses

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe work practices
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Comfortable interacting with employees and supervisors on safety matters
• Organizational and time management skills
• Excellent attention to detail, documentation skills and typing accuracy
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, email)
