JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, Clinical Programs, Surgical Services, the incumbent serves as a nurse advisor and clinical expert. They fulfil a clinical, consultative, teaching and leadership role, while serving as a role model and change agent. The incumbent is responsible for the development of the ERAS and SeamlessMD programs for the relevant zone and provides support to other Vitalité Health Network zones as needed. In collaboration with staff, managers, surgeons and anesthesiologists, they develop and implement training programs, processes and protocols for applying best practices in Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) and SeamlessMD, tailored to the needs of the zone.This person also trains staff in accordance with program principles and is responsible for the development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of programs in the zone, while monitoring the SeamlessMD dashboard. In the course of their duties, the incumbent may be required to travel within the Network's territory or outside the province to undertake continued training and maintain their skills.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Registered with the College of Nursing of New Brunswick;
  • Bachelor of science in nursing;
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate and maintenance of certification;
  • Minimum of two years' surgical experience within the last five years;
  • Practical computer skills;
  • Research and writing skills;
  • Skills in teaching adults;
  • Leadership and communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Professionalism and accountability, as well as the knowledge, skills and clinical judgment required to provide safe, competent care based on scientific research and evidence;
  • Valid driver's license and availability to travel within the Network and outside the province for training purposes.
