The Senior Manager leads teams and professionals to deliver high-quality services, develop solutions, and drive operational excellence. This may include providing leadership, support and guidance to preparedness, response/emergency operations, recovery and mitigation efforts. They foster a positive team culture, optimize resource allocation, address operational challenges, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, mitigate risks, and boost productivity. Collaborating across teams, they support continuous improvement and the adoption of innovative work practices. Additionally, they establish and maintain partnerships with stakeholders, oversee program budgets and resources, and contribute to program development and innovation.
In this role you will:
- Manage program/service planning, implementation, and evaluation in collaboration with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational strategies and goals.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, donors, local communities, at national level; vendors and service providers, to ensure effective coordination, collaboration, and support for program/service activities.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of Emergency Management programs.Operationalize program/service agreements, identify needs and resolve issues.
- Provide strategic leadership and management oversight of operations, developing and managing key operational componentsrelated to the delivery of services.
- Support emergency response and preparedness efforts, as needed, including providing technical expertise, coordinatingprogram activities, contributing to rapid assessments and decision-making and stewarding serious on-site incidents.
What we are looking for:
- Minimum of 6-9 years experience and a 3-year college diploma or university degree in social sciences,
health sciences, emergency management, community development or a related field and/or an equivalent combination of
education and experience. May require a graduate diploma/degree in a related field and/or a professional degree, certification, ordesignation. - Requires expertise in a specialized discipline or broad experience across fields, along with an understanding of interconnectionsbetween processes and business units to provide effective leadership.
- Leadership and team management skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and inspire, motivate, and engage teams to achieveprogram objectives.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams, including volunteers and emergency personnel, in high-pressure situations. Experience in successfully leading and coordinating emergency response or recovery operations.
- Fluency in English is required, French is an asset
Working Conditions:
- The role includes fieldwork, deployment to emergency operations, and office-based work during non-deployment periods.
- Some domestic or international travel to generally safe locations; exposure to moderate adverse conditions requiring attention to personal safety.
- Work requires the ability to work to multiple, conflicting deadlines.
- Work requires interactions with clients who may be agitated, or are experiencing stressful situations.
