Goodwill Industries – White Oaks retail location is a community-focused thrift store environment. The position emphasizes loss prevention, customer interaction, and maintaining a safe shopping experience. Officers must balance strong observational skills with professional and approachable service.

Position: Part Time Security Guard

Site: Goodwill Industries - White Oaks

City: London

Hours: Monday to Thursday (5pm to 9PM)

Pay Rate: $19.11/hr

Posting Date: May 1, 2026

Internal Closing Date: May 8, 2026

External Closing Date: May 31st, 2026

Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement (AA)

Assignments Include:

  • Opening and closing the facility, patrolling interior and exterior spaces and controlling access/egress, providing security escorts, as required
  • Operating, accessing, and occasionally monitoring the video surveillance equipment
  • Monitoring and responding to alarm systems
  • Guards shall at all times maintain a high standard of civility, deportment and appearance, and guards shall proactive a philosophy of compassion and de-escalation
  • Supporting staff, volunteers, tenants and Goodwill patrons by knowing and understanding Goodwill's Rules of Conduct and being able to apply these rules in a fair, dignified and positive manner.
  • Reporting Incidents using Paladin Incident Reporting Tool
  • Resolving incidents according to Paladin guidelines, instructions, procedures, and reporting on incidents according to established procedures
  • Protecting all persons (including public, staff, volunteers, on-site contractors, tenants) and property in the event of medical, fire, disaster, severe weather, bomb threat, evacuation and other emergencies
  • Functioning as the Primary First Aid service provider at Goodwill Industries. This might include the ability to administer a blocking medication such as Naloxone, and use of devices such as automated external defibrillators (AED).

Prerequisites:

  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the certifications with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
