We are currently seeking an Applications Systems Analyst to join our Information Technology team based in the Firm's Halifax, NS office.

The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, IT Client Services, The Applications Systems Analyst is responsible for a portfolio of applications and firm-wide systems, including planning, analysis, guidance, administration, upgrades, and troubleshooting across the Windows desktop, Server, and Citrix platforms.
The Applications Systems Analyst serves as a key technical resource and is responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, customization, and ongoing support of enterprise applications and firm-wide systems.
This role oversees the day-to-day operations of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), including troubleshooting, implementing upgrades, scheduling deployments, maintaining operating system images, managing endpoint security updates, and generating activity reports.
The successful candidate will maintain subject matter expertise across assigned applications and system environments, conduct root cause analysis on technical issues, and provide actionable recommendations. They will also be responsible for evaluating, testing, and integrating new software, upgrades, and imaging processes, including hardware drivers, while also identifying opportunities to improve workflows and system efficiency.
By analyzing complex business requirements, the Applications Systems Analyst collaborates with users, IT teams, and external consultants to design and implement effective solutions.
Additional responsibilities include supporting project management efforts, coordinating tasks, resolving complex technical problems, managing system vulnerabilities through patching, and overseeing software licensing and compliance.
The role also requires thorough documentation of systems, processes, and configurations, ensuring all materials remain current and accessible, while adhering to organizational security policies and contributing to broader IT initiatives as needed.
The successful candidate will hold a degree or diploma in Information Technology and a minimum of five years of experience maintaining and supporting Windows desktop environments, network applications, and Windows Server systems.
Additionally, the successful candidate must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, along with hands-on experience using MECM and Intune for application deployment, operating system delivery, endpoint analytics, and ongoing maintenance and support. The role also requires the ability to write PowerShell scripts and SQL statements, as well as prior experience in software evaluation, integration, testing, and distribution.
