Jump Recruitment, on behalf of our client, Newfound Mechanical, is seeking to fill a Safety Advisor position that will be based out of Charlottetown, PEI with travel throughout the Atlantic provinces.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Advisor to join our team. The Safety Advisor will be responsible for promoting a safe work environment by monitoring safety policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and help prevent workplace accidents and injuries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain workplace health and safety programs
  • Maintain a strong and visible field presence, emphasizing proactive prevention and leading?indicator activities
  • Partner with management and operations to reinforce safety expectations through consistent coaching and engagement
  • Provide expertise and guidance on safety standards, best practices, and risk?mitigation strategies
  • Assist employees in identifying hazards and implementing effective controls to reduce risk
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments
  • Ensure compliance with company, contractual, local, provincial, and federal safety regulations
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports
  • Maintain safety training documentation and schedule safety training when required
  • Complete orientation for employees
  • Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and training
  • Recommend improvements to workplace safety practices
  • Monitor use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational health and safety.
  • Knowledge of OHS regulations within the Maritime provinces, including NB, NS, PEI and NL, as well as CSA standards and industry best practices
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and standards
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with an approachable style while maintaining professionalism and clear expectations
  • Certification in First Aid/CPR (asset)
  • Professional safety certification (e.g., CRSP or equivalent) is an asset
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and ability to travel

  • Ability to identify hazards and implement solutions
  • Confident in delivering training sessions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Details:

  • Location: Based out of Charlottetown, PEI, with travel throughout Atlantic provinces.
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Salary and additional compensation factors: $60,000-$80,000 depending on experience. Health and dental benefits available.
