Summer Student Term Position - Halifax Campus

We are looking for dynamic individuals to be a part of our team at the Halifax Campus for Activities Leader summer term part-time position.

Positions Details:

Length of the term: 8 weeks

Number of hours: 70 hours bi-weekly - Days

Salary: $18.50 per hour

Start Date: June 8, 2026

End Date: August 3, 2026

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

• Grade 11 or higher
• Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act(1). , and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
• Must have interest in working in Long Term Care

Responsible to the Manager, Community Development & Support

Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and facilitate recreational, social, and wellness activities that promote tenant engagement and inclusion
• Actively engage with tenants to reduce social isolation through conversation, visits, and encouraging participation in activities
• Escort tenants to and from activities as needed
• Support meal services, including set-up, serving, clearing, and cleaning of communal dining areas
• Assist with housekeeping and cleaning of shared tenant spaces to maintain a safe and welcoming environment
• Observe and report any concerns related to tenant well-being, safety, or changes in condition to supervisors
• Perform light administrative and logistical tasks, including recording attendance, assisting with event promotion, and tracking activity supplies
• Follow all tenant privacy and confidentiality policies
• Participate in team meetings and required training sessions
