Job Description:

Department Overview:

The TD Securities Capital Management Group is part of the Wholesale Banking Finance group and is accountable for all capital and leverage exposure management, and funds transfer pricing for TDS. The group provides subject matter expertise and advice to the business to support optimal financial resource management. Further, the group is involved in consultations and industry discussions regarding current and upcoming OSFI Capital requirements, as it relates to capital markets products. It is also responsible for allocation of capital for business line measurement and ownership of Capital Management Frameworks including establishment of segment limits, ongoing monitoring and escalation, and leading optimization and cost savings initiatives.

Job Overview:

Reporting to the AVP, the Senior Specialized Finance Manager will play a foundational role in the design and evolution of TD Securities' balance sheet management, in support of efficient balance sheet usage and optimal allocation of financial resources. The role will also lead strategic oversight of capital performance monitoring across TDS business lines and delivery of clear, actionable insights to senior management on performance trends, risks, and progress against targets to inform key business decisions.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed and driver?based capital analytics on key determinants of ROE and ROA, including insights on capital generation drivers, and RWA and Leverage usage.

  • Design and maintain management scorecards focused on ROE, ROA and other capital efficiency metrics

  • Evaluate the impact of strategic initiatives, new products and business growth opportunities on capital efficiency and financial resource metrics

  • Support development and execution of the TDS capital and balance sheet allocation framework

  • Partner with the business to identify and execute capital efficiency opportunities, including balance sheet optimization, RWA and leverage reduction strategies

  • Translate quantitative analysis into concise and actionable insights for senior stakeholders.

  • Oversee adherence to applicable limits, internal policies, and regulatory frameworks.

  • Maintain up?to?date knowledge of industry, regulatory, and market developments relevant to capital performance management

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Sound understanding of wholesale banking products, with the ability to apply quantitative data analysis

  • An independent thinker with strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to solve unstructured and complex issues

  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive decision-making through detailed analysis and insights

  • Strong presentation, facilitation, interpersonal, and leadership skills enabling effective engagement with all levels of senior leadership

  • Self-starter and driven, with a strong sense of ownership to push forward on new initiatives

  • Strong ability to synthesize complex data into clear visualizations and dashboards that drive actionable insights

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Specific Educational Requirements / Accreditations:

  • Undergraduate degree

  • CFA, CPA or FRM designation preferred

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred

Work activities include a blend of highly collaborative activities and individual deliverables. Individuals are expected to be onsite 4 days a week. Colleagues may spend more or less days in office as required by the business line.
