Your main responsibilities

  • Lead and manage transportation planning and design projects from concept through construction, including conceptual, detailed, and construction-stage deliverables;
  • Prepare and oversee design drawings, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, technical memoranda, design briefs, and construction specifications;
  • Perform project management duties including schedule development, budget monitoring, progress reporting, client coordination, and contract administration;
  • Direct and manage Traffic Impact Studies, Transportation Studies, and Transportation Master Plans;
  • Conduct traffic analyses using software such as Synchro and VISSIM to assess capacity, operations, and improvement options for intersections and corridors;
  • Develop and review intersection improvement designs, including signalized intersections, roundabouts, and associated multimodal facilities;
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, EITs, and technologists, ensuring high-quality, timely, and compliant deliverables;
  • Coordinate and manage sub-consultants and contribute to proposal development for competitive transportation planning and design opportunities.

What makes you unique

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution;
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in transportation engineering, planning, and design;
  • Demonstrated experience managing transportation projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and client relationships;
  • Strong technical background in traffic operations, roadway design, and transportation planning principles;
  • Proficiency with transportation engineering software, including Synchro and VISSIM;
  • Experience preparing clear, well-structured technical reports and client-facing documentation;
  • Advanced working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments.
