Job Details:
We are a well-established Halifax-based seafood processing and marketing company supplying domestic and export markets, in business for more than 25 years. We are seeking a Controller to complement our head office team.
Reporting directly to the owners and working within a Microsoft Dynamics GP accounting system you will supervise a small but well qualified accounting team.
Specific responsibilities would include:
- Overseeing A/R, A/P and Inventory functions
- Monitoring production costs, standards, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Bank reconciliations
- General journal entries
- Foreign exchange management
- Monthly financial reporting
- Payroll
- Regulatory compliance
Qualifications include:
- Relevant university degree
- Accounting designation
- Minimum 3 years and preferably 5 years prior experience
- Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP would be an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good analytical skills
- Attentive to detail
- Responsive
