Position Overview:
Paladin Security is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Trainer to join our dynamic Training & Development team at our Toronto branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive security training programs including MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behaviour), Use of Force (both lecture and physical components), and Healthcare Security Training.
Job Functions:
- Deliver engaging and effective training sessions for: MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behaviour),Use of Force (theory and practical/physical skills)Healthcare Security Training (including Gentle Persuasive Approaches, Code White procedures, etc.)
- Assist in developing and updating training materials and lesson plans in alignment with industry best practices and Paladin's standards.
- Provide hands-on instruction during physical training exercises and ensure safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Conduct evaluations to measure training effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate training records and certifications.
- Support training compliance with provincial regulations and client requirements.
- Collaborate with Operations and HR teams to identify training needs and support employee development.
Qualifications:
- Certified Instructor in MOAB and Use of Force (or willingness to obtain certification through Paladin).
- Certified in ASP Use of Force and tactical weapons
- Experience in delivering security or law enforcement-related training, especially within healthcare environments, is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of security protocols, de-escalation tactics, and physical intervention techniques.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Physically fit and capable of demonstrating and supervising physical training components.
- Knowledge of Ontario legislation related to security operations (PSISA, Criminal Code, Trespass to Property Act, etc.)
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License in good standing.
- First Aid/CPR Instructor certification is an asset.
- Previous experience in healthcare security is an asset.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Travel will be required occasionally to other regions.
