Health Health and Safety Coordinator (Moose River Gold Mine Site)

We are currently seeking a Health and Safety Coordinator for our Moose River Gold Mine site. The safety coordinator is responsible for all safety functions on site. This role is vital to ensure full compliance with all safety programs and Occupational Health and Safety.

Duties include:

• Improvement and development of company safety policies including inspections of active work areas.
• Assist in the development of safe operating procedures for various tasks on site.
• Ensure JHAs and FLRAs are completed as required.
• Tracks and reports all employee training and expirations for all employees on site.
• Monitors equipment inspections to ensure compliance and schedule inspections as needed based on compliance requirements.
• Investigates incidents as required by company policy.
• Ensures incident reporting protocols are completed sufficiently and in a timely manner and all medical and lost time injuries are properly reported to Head Office.
• Tracks and monitors site statistics for time off due to injury and coordinates modified work duties with site superintendent when necessary to mitigate loss time claims.
• Conducts all site orientations.
• Conducts daily tool box talks to all site employees and delivers all safety related documentation to the contractor.

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in related field.
• Proven ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external of organization.
• Strong level of computer literacy.
• Self-starter with a high degree of initiative; flexible team player.
• Ability to manage stress and to work through problems tactfully and timely.
• Attention to detail in all areas of work.
