Department Overview:

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is responsible for building organizational capability in managing risk on a more integrated and comprehensive basis for the organization and for promoting a strong risk culture within TD. The team is accountable for the development and implementation of an enterprise risk management strategy, governance, policies and practices, reporting and operating frameworks, and operations associated with the Risk Management function.

TD applies the "Three Lines of Defence" model to risk management as defined in the Enterprise Risk Framework. As part of the second line of defence, the ERM team assures the appropriate design, implementation, and/or execution of (applicable components of) the TD risk management framework. ERM collaborates with a broad network of business and risk management practitioners and other corporate functions in all jurisdictions where the Bank has business activities.

Job Description:

Reporting to the AVP, Enterprise Risk Management, the Senior Manager will lead ERM reporting capabilities, storytelling and related initiatives across Risk Management, including the development and advancement of data management and visualization. The Senior Manager will ensure programs and processes are aligned and integrated with the Enterprise Risk Framework and other relevant frameworks.

The Senior Manager will lead and/or oversee the following deliverables across ERM:

  • Develop clear risk landscape summaries for inclusion in executive-level memos and narratives, grounded in a detailed understanding of the evolving external operating environment and internal risk factors.
  • Deliver business-as-usual (BAU) ERM activities including reporting routines, stakeholder communication and oversight & monitoring of business adherence to ERM programs.
  • Design and implement solutions to collect, store and manage data across ERM programs to support reporting and visualization for a variety of stakeholders.
  • Develop new and advance existing executive reports using modern visualization tools in alignment with enterprise data standards.
  • Manage delivery plans, timelines and associated activities, interacting with stakeholders and the broader ERM team.
  • Develop new and maintain existing enterprise-wide frameworks, policies, standards and procedures, including change activities, for BAU and new initiatives.
  • Adhere to evolving regulatory requirements and interpret and monitor changes to relevant regulations where ERM has primary oversight accountabilities.

The scope of these activities is enterprise-wide and includes interaction with stakeholders across Risk Management, other Corporate Functions, and all business segments, including the U.S.

Job Requirements:

  • 10+ years' Risk Management experience is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to 'know your audience', communicate effectively (through written and verbal executive storytelling) and interact effectively with stakeholders and Leadership is required.
  • Experience designing and developing data management solutions using tooling such as Power Platform, PowerApps, etc. is required.
  • Experience migrating to, and/or developing reports in visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) is required.
  • Strong collaborator with proven ability to engage, influence and motivate a diverse group of stakeholders and drive results.
  • Flexible and adaptable with robust organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Superior impact and influence skills coupled with the ability to navigate a complex matrix organization, and the ability to instinctively engage others to achieve positive business outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively identify risks / issues and recommend solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Co-Pilot is preferred.
