This responsible position requires a person with above-average organizational and efficiency skills capable of providing comprehensive and complex secretarial, clerical and administrative services to the Registrar of Complaints, the Senior In-House Counsel and to a busy professional office.

We are looking for a candidate who is detail-oriented, able to deal with irate complainants, and able to work in a busy and demanding environment, often with strict time limits. The candidate must also demonstrate a high level of confidentiality, autonomy, judgment and responsibility.

Administrative duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining complaints and discipline files, databases and documentation.
  • Composing and typing documents, including dictations.
  • First point of contact for departmental calls, inquiries and mail.
  • Scheduling events and maintaining calendars.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate, having excellent verbal and written skills in English and French, proficiency using Microsoft Office and database management applications, and meet one of these educational, and experience requirements in a law office/department:

  • Paralegal or Legal Assistant diploma from a recognized Canadian institution combined with a minimum of 2 years` experience as a legal assistant.
  • University degree complemented with 3 years' experience as a legal assistant.
  • High school graduation or GED supplemented by secretarial and administrative courses/certificates combined with 5 years' experience as a legal assistant.

This opportunity is located in Fredericton and is a full-time fifteen (15) month TERM position starting no later than July 6, 2026. Depending on evolving circumstances, this term position might be extended by a few months or have its status changed to REGULAR full time.

The remuneration: $2,605 - $2,894 bi-weekly, commensurate with qualifications and experience. A comprehensive group benefits program and RRSP contributions are also part of the total rewards program.
