Site Description: Confederation Basin Marina is located in downtown Kingston, in front of City Hall, behind the Shoal Tower, and across the water from Fort Henry. It has 350 slip finger docks accommodating power and sailboats up to 30 metres (100 feet).

Hours: Friday & Saturday - 2200-0500

Payrate: $22.80/hour

Note: This is a seasonal position going from May 2 to September 7, 2026.

Job Description:

• Proactive & reactive security patrols
• • Majority of shift will be spent conducting exterior patrols
• Response to incidents
• Lock & Secure washrooms
• Ensure no unauthorized individuals are on site after 2200
• Liaise with Paladin & the Marina Coordinator to ensure ongoing safety concerns/issues are resolved
• Assist boaters as necessary
• By-law parking enforcement
• Report writing and note taking
• • Daily shift reports
• Investigate routine incidents
• Additional Duties as Assigned

Job Requirements:

• Valid Security License for Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
• A personal vehicle you will have access to during the shift. There is no indoor shelter available, a vehicle is required.
• Able to stand for up to 8-12 hours per shift
• Able to complete extensive patrolling of site
• English communication (oral and written) required
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
• • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
