The Opportunity
Company, Department: Emera Newfoundland, Bottom BrookLocation: Woodbine Converter StationClosing Date: May 8, 2026 Emera Newfoundland and Labrador is hiring for the position of, Co-op Student, Woodbine for the Summer 2026 term with their reporting point will be Woodbine Converter Station. This position may require travel to various facility sites in Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia . What you'll do:We'll treat you as one of our own and your key areas of responsibility will include:
- Responsible for your personal safety and that of your co-workers by observing all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.Environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.Assist in operations planning to support maintenance of Maritime Links assets , this will include but not be limited to development and execution of preventative maintenance inspections of the assets including transmission lines, High Voltage DC converter stations, switchyards and related equipment.Provide technical support to HVDC technicians and EngineerWork with technical groups to review documentation, schedules / work progress and to provide document control at sitesSupport for special projects at sites and working with contractors to accomplish tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work in a team and/or independentlyProven technical writing, reporting and organizational skillsA Valid Driver's License
