Purpose of position:
To provide technical support and guidance to Maintenance Control and the Line Maintenance bases for Out-of-Service aircraft to ensure a safe, timely, and cost-effective return to revenue service of the aircraft.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop the optimum course of troubleshooting and rectification process based on the nature of the fault and the maintenance history of the aircraft.
- Guide maintenance personnel through the troubleshooting and rectification process as required.
- Provide summary and detailed "Out-of-Service" Reports as required.
- Liaise with ISE and the aircraft manufacture when required.
- Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of co-workers and customers.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
Required qualifications:
- Graduate of a Transport Canada-approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) program.
- Holds a Transport Canada approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Category “M” license or Categories “M” & "E" licenses.
- Holds endorsement(s) on Jazz aircraft-specific (CRJ900, DHC-8-400 and/or E175) aircraft type(s).
- Successful completion of Transport Canada or ICAO-compliant Safety Management System (SMS) training.
- Minimum 5 years experience as an aircraft maintenance engineer.
- High proficiency in statistical analysis and reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to provide technical guidance during aircraft AOG situations and/or chronic defects, using applicable aircraft or vendor documentation, OEM resources, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Knowledge of TRAX.
- Excellent organizational skills and computer literacy.
- Able and willing to work a rotating cycle of 24/7 shifts in a technical operations environment.
- English language fluency, both written and verbal.
