Nakile Home for Special Care is a fully licensed 48-bed long-term care facility, priding itself in offering a friendly, bright, home-like living experience to seniors in the Argyle and surrounding areas since 1989. Nakile maintains a reputation as one of the finest long-term care facilities in Western Nova Scotia. We are currently seeking one temporary (Approximately 8 weeks) Maintenance Worker (Summer Student) to join the Nakile family.

Hours of Work
40-hours per week (may include weekdays, weekends, holidays and occasional evening and night shifts)

Responsibilities
The Maintenance team reports to the Director of Environmental Services & Maintenance. This position plays an integral role in supporting the many aspects of maintaining our nursing home both interior and exterior. The ability to maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate a willingness to solve problems and learn will be considered an asset. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to stay organized while multi-tasking are a requirement. Duties will be performed in accordance with the Mission, Vision, Values, Standards, Policies and Procedures of Nakile Home for Special Care. • Maintain confidentiality regarding residents, staff, and organization
• The following will be considered assets:
  • Previous experience working in a Long-Term Care Facility
  • Work experience in general maintenance (interior/exterior)

Rate of Pay: Minimum Wage

Start Date: June 8, 2026 (approximately)
