HR Summer Intern

Duration: 12 Weeks
Starting Dates: mid May to early June
Hours: 32 hours per week; Tuesday through Friday
Schedule: 8am - 4pm
Berwick, Nova Scotia

Rate of Pay: $18 hourly
Reports to: Director of People Operations

Grand View Manor is seeking an HR Summer Intern. A college or university student who is passionate about supporting people, building strong teams, and fostering a positive workplace culture. If you love HR, problem-solving, and helping employees thrive, this role is for you!

Position Overview

Our HR Summer Intern will assist with the following key projects and responsibilities:

• Assist with set up and auditing of our HRIS system via ADP
• Assist with ensuring all HR related documents utilized by leadership and team members are up to date and accessible.
• Assist with preparing the HR offices for moving locations to our new build home
• Filing and record keeping
• Assist with planning and preparation of team events

Learning Opportunities

• The successful candidate will participate in our General Orientation at the start of the work experience to orientate to the workplace
• The successful candidate will be integrated into the HR team and have the opportunity to participate in various meetings, discussions and strategy planning
• Mentoring and self-development guided by the HR Team
• Long Term Care sector experience
• HR experience in a larger complex operation

What You Bring

• Enrolled in a College or University program with an HR component
• Strong interpersonal skills and compassion for seniors
• Excellent communication (verbal and non-verbal)
• A positive, team-focused attitude
• Flexibility to adapt to changing needs or routines
• Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform role duties
• Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check
• Previous long-term care experience is an asset
