WorkSafeNB is seeking to fill a permanent position of Product Owner. Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Solutions, the Product Owner (PO) is the?single point of accountability for the value, direction, and outcomes of assigned digital products?within the IT Division.?The Product Owner has?deep?knowledge of the software products assigned to them.
This position is responsible for identifying impacts of new?software?product?releases, making recommendations on new functionality that may provide business value?to end users, providing support to promote strong adoption of the product, leading and prioritizing the product backlog with stakeholders and creating user stories for implementation while ensuring product direction is aligned with organizational goals and strategies.?
Salary and Hours of Work:
- Hours of work are those required to perform the assigned tasks but shall not be less than 35 hours per week.
- Pay Scale: $103,259.70 to $121,482.00 annually
- Product vision and backlog management - Lead and prioritize the?outstanding requests for changes, known as the?product backlog,?by working with stakeholders,?Solution Delivery and other IT?teams,?and/or?external?vendors to ensure high?value, strategically aligned solutions.
- Requirements Gathering & User Story Development - Accountable for ensuring business needs are effectively translated into clear, prioritized user stories with defined acceptance criteria, enabling the delivery team to build solutions that maximize business value.
- Implementation?Planning, Prioritization & Delivery Oversight - Guide the team through?implementation?planning and delivery by setting clear goals, refining backlog items,?defining contents of each development sprint or iteration,?and validating outcomes to?achieve successful delivery of the release.
- Communication,?Alignment?& Vendor Coordination - Ensure alignment across various stakeholders, on the product vision, roadmap, and priorities through clear and consistent communication.
- Product Performance, Service Health,?&?Continuous Improvement - Monitor product and service performance, review user?feedback?and operational data, and identify improvements that strengthen stability, usability, compliance, and business value.
- Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, software engineering, data engineering, information technology, or a relevant field.
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive experience in technology or as a subject matter expert, with strengths in analysis, product/project delivery, and stakeholder management.
- Proven ability to lead and facilitate workshops with business and IT stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of IT and its role in enabling business outcomes.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Product Ownership) are considered an asset.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, such as a 2-year college diploma in a relevant field plus an additional 2 years' experience.
