We are searching for a Casual Ward Clerk to join our Losier Hall team based in Miramichi, New Brunswick.

About the Opportunity
- Receives and routes telephone calls, greets and directs visitors as appropriate; provides routine information and responds to inquiries from residents, visitors, and staff; refers to appropriate person as necessary;
- Sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail and couriers; distributes forms, reports and other documents to appropriate personnel and departments;
- Performs a wide variety of typing assignments, which are sometimes confidential in nature; operates personal computer to enter data, draft, edit, revise, and print letters, tables, reports and other material;
- Prepares photocopies and facsimiles, and operates a variety of office equipment; maintains and distributes office supplies;
- Performs basic, routine bookkeeping functions, which involves petty cash reconciliation, clothing allowance, trust deposits and payments on client accounts;
- Establishes, maintains, processes, and updates files, records, and other documents, including resident master lists, next of kin lists, resident admissions/ transfers / discharges; maintains resident discharge files;
- Ensures resident safety by following and applying all standard operational procedures, safe work practices and training provided;
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
About You
In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
- A high-school diploma or equivalent education (post-secondary education in a related field is considered a strong asset);
- Ability to provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening check upon hire;
- Current First Aid & CPR certificate considered an asset;
- Ability to operate personal computers including various software including Microsoft Office;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information;
- Knowledge of medical terminology and general office procedures;
- Attention to detail and responsible behavior;
- Ability to read and write in English is required, ability to read and write in French considered an asset;
- A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.
