What is the opportunity?
Reporting to RBC Royal Trust's National Head, Private Client Solutions, the Regional Vice-President for Eastern Canada (i.e., Montréal, Ottawa, and Halifax) is responsible for the region's strategic execution and performance and for leading a team of skilled RBC Royal Trust professionals in delivering regional business results and ensuring exceptional client experience. You will be an ambassador for RBC Royal Trust, both internally and externally, and will consistently identify new opportunities to increase market share. What will you do?
- Responsible for the acquisition, growth, and retention of long-term profitable high-net-worth clients within Eastern Canada through sales and market leadership, implementation of strategic direction, and representation in the regional marketplace.
- Coach a team of industry professionals to achieve and maximize the strategic business objectives and revenue and productivity opportunities by leveraging activities to retain and grow high-net-worth, very high-net-worth, and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
- Develop relationships within RBC as well as with community partners to capture client opportunities through referrals and promote the same relationship building activities with the team.
- Successfully maximize the deployment, productivity, and effectiveness of all team members for greatest gain in revenue and client loyalty.
- Responsible for Eastern Canada's contribution to revenue growth and for managing the overall risk of the region's portfolio of clients.
- Maintain a cooperative and constructive relationship with various partners and functions.
- Identify potential risks and implement action plans to address and correct, reporting operational risk events, potential litigation, etc. to senior management.
- Develop and execute Eastern Canada's annual strategic plan to meet sales and revenue targets aligned to the overall business strategy and plan, ensuring each team member understands and is accountable for their individual goals and performance targets.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Strong business acumen in order to understand and evaluate key business and financial concepts when developing and executing plans for the region
- Ability to leverage the position of trusted advisor to identify future business opportunities and to develop a positive reputation in the community
- Proven track record in managing high performing teams and holding employees accountable for delivering results
- Ability to communicate with clients about general investment, estate, financial, trust, and taxation issues, including economic conditions
- Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly serve our clients and do business with RBC partners and/or employees across Canada with English and French speaking needs
Nice-to-have
- Knowledge of common and civil law related to testamentary and inter vivos trusts
- Demonstrated ability in managing complex personal and family dynamics including the grieving process and dealing with conflict
- Established internal and external business network
- MBA and/or Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation
