ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
NL Health Services ? Central Zone is seeking Locum Radiologists to provide coverage across two sites in central Newfoundland:
- James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre, Gander, NL
- Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL
These positions offer an excellent opportunity to practice diagnostic radiology in a collaborative environment while contributing to high-quality patient care across the Central Zone. Assignments will vary by site and operational need.
Central Zone is the second largest health zone in NL Health Services, serving approximately 90,000 people across 176 communities. The region extends from Charlottetown in the east, Fogo Island in the north, Harbour Breton in the south, to Baie Verte in the west ? encompassing more than half the total land mass of the island of Newfoundland.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Eligible for licensure as a Radiologist with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
- Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized institution
- Must satisfy credentialing requirements of NL Health Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
- Satisfactory record of work performance and attendance
- Relevant clinical experience (asset)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interpret imaging studies including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and nuclear medicine examinations to provide accurate diagnostic reports
- Perform image-guided procedures including biopsies, drainages, and injections using ultrasound, CT, or fluoroscopy
- Collaborate closely with referring physicians, offering consultations on imaging findings and recommendations for further diagnostic or therapeutic steps
- Provide on-call and emergency coverage including rapid interpretation of urgent studies such as trauma scans, stroke imaging, and chest X-rays for acutely ill patients
- Work collaboratively within a regional interdisciplinary team
- Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements
