ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

NL Health Services ? Central Zone is seeking a full-time Emergency Medicine Physician for Primary & Double Coverage Shifts at Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. The successful candidate will work within the Emergency Department across primary and double coverage shifts (8:00am?4:00pm or 4:00pm?midnight) and may be responsible for the provision of virtual care during double coverage hours.

Central Zone is the second largest health zone in NL Health Services, serving approximately 90,000 people across 176 communities. The region extends from Charlottetown in the east, Fogo Island in the north, Harbour Breton in the south, to Baie Verte in the west ? encompassing more than half the total land mass of the island of Newfoundland.

Grand Falls-Windsor is a vibrant central Newfoundland community offering excellent amenities, a strong sense of community, and easy access to the natural beauty of the surrounding region ? including world-class salmon fishing on the Exploits River.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Eligible for licensure as a Family Medicine Physician with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
  • Special competency in Emergency Medicine not required but considered an asset
  • Must satisfy credentialing requirements of NL Health Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide emergency physician services across primary and double coverage shifts
  • Work scheduled 8-hour shifts ? 8:00am?4:00pm or 4:00pm?midnight
  • Provide virtual care services during double coverage hours as required
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary Emergency Department team
  • Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements

REMUNERATION

Fee-For-Service at Category A hourly rate (Sessional) as per the MCP Payment Schedule.

Sessional Rate: Approximately CAD 232.00 per hour

Available Incentives:

  • Physician Signing Bonus ? CAD 150,000 + CAD 25,000 top-up
  • Come Home Incentive ? CAD 100,000 (if eligibility criteria are met)
