ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
NL Health Services – Central Zone is seeking a Family Medicine Physician to join the team at St. Alban's Community Health Centre in St. Alban's, NL. Reporting to the Chief of Family Medicine, the successful candidate will be expected to maintain a patient roster and provide comprehensive family medicine services to the local community.
Our ideal candidate will have a strong patient focus and excellent communication skills with a keen interest in collaborative team-based practice. Hours of work may require flexibility to offer clinics during daytime, after-hours, and weekends to meet patient needs. The successful candidate will provide care using an EMR platform.

St. Alban's is a welcoming rural community on the south coast of Newfoundland, offering a peaceful lifestyle surrounded by the natural beauty of the Bay d'Espoir region — known for its stunning fjords, salmon rivers, and tight-knit community spirit.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized institution
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
- Must satisfy credentialing requirements of NL Health Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
- Satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a rostered panel of primary care patients
- See regularly scheduled patients, walk-ins, and new patients
- Review lab data, letters, and charts on an ongoing basis
- Complete consultant letters, insurance forms, and other clinical documentation
- Return patient telephone calls and manage ongoing patient communication
- Support teaching and academic activities as required
- Provide care using the EMR platform
- Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements
REMUNERATION
Remuneration will be in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador.
